The Total Pros High–Speed Buffing Techniques
Oceanside, CA – February 2009 – Mel Craig, world renowned
auto detailing professional, and his company, The Total Pros, release all–new
high–speed buffing techniques that are revolutionizing the auto detailing
and paint reconditioning service industry. This new technology, here in the US,
has been used for many years in Europe and has been successfully proven with European
auto detailers and manufacturers alike.
Three of the biggest challenges detailers face using the high speed buffer are paint
burning, paint swirls and clear coat removal. With The Total Pros all–new
high–speed buffing techniques, using the high–speed rotary buffer, we
now have a proven system to prevent these three major challenges.
With very little training it's now extremely easy for almost any detailer to get
swirl and burn free professional paint restoration results. Meguiar's has released
the all–new 105 ultra cut compound, the revolutionizing 205 ultra finishing
polish and the new 2.0 foam pads that's perfect for high performance and show car
finishes.
Craig has been working closely with several manufacturers and industry experts over
the past two years to introduce a new training technique into The Total Pros Auto
Detailing Training Center. He contacted Jason Rose, head of research and development
for Meguiar's and Richard Umbrell, owner of Buff and Shine Buffing Pads to create
better results. Mel's push to find soft backing plates and small 7 inch flexible
buffing pads has resulted in a much simpler and easy way of restoring and protecting
the vehicle's painted surface.
Craig's idea of using slower speeds with smaller flexible pads has revealed a much
safer, easier way of refinishing paint with extremely high–end, professional
results. The use of this new system will enable even the newest rookie to perform
professional results on just about any paint finish. "The pads are getting smaller,
the speeds are getting slower and thanks to Meguiar's, the chemicals are getting
more user friendly with greater results" states Craig.
The old way of using the high speed buffer, changing speeds for different pads,
and the use of larger, dangerous cutting pads and hard backing plates has become
a thing of the past. Using these new buffing techniques, pads and Meguiar's chemicals
Craig has perfected buffing without the worry of damaging paint. His new technique
is getting unparalleled results on almost all paint finishes.
Using the rotary buffer at a slow speed of 1000 to 1200 rpm's and the all new soft
flexible backing plates, along with the choice of extremely small flexible pads,
Craig has created a revolutionary new system that is sure to make the professional
paint reconditioning expert excited.
High–speed buffing and paint reconditioning will never be the same again.
